The closest mountain to the hostel: about 20 minutes by car to the Kutchan-Hirafu trailhead, about 30 minutes to the Makkari trailhead. Our early-morning summer shuttle (3:30–7:00) can take you there.
Before you set out, please check the official sources for trail registration, water and toilets on the mountain, onsen after the descent, and the last bus of the day.

Board at Kutchan Station and get off at the "Yotei Tozanguchi" (Mt. Yotei trailhead) bus stop. Times and fares change with the season. Please check the operator's official timetable.

Car
The hostel → About 20 min
The Kutchan-Hirafu trailhead car park holds about 30 cars. If it is full, you can also park at the Lake Hangetsu (Hangetsu-ko) car park. Both are free, and both have toilets in summer.
